Background Information[]
Indigo was born in an affluent suburb in the Southwest to parents who valued money more than family. Her mother had inherited a large sum, and her father was a wealthy department store owner, so they treated Indigo more like a mantelpiece than a daughter, only speaking to her about her school achievements or horse-riding ribbons. Isolated and rarely allowed to socialize, Indigo sought solace with the horses on the family farm, struggling to connect with others. Meanwhile, her older brother, Lincoln, was groomed to carry on the family legacy, leaving Indigo feeling frustrated, confused, and distant from him.
The only time her parents seemed to notice her outside her accomplishments was when they caught her with her computer programming tutor, Alejandro. Her father walked in on an intimate moment between them, and she was swiftly separated from Alejandro and put on a plane to her grandfather's estate in Hawaii to finish her education. However, a violent storm caused the small plane to crash. Indigo woke up on a beach, with very little memory of the crash and no idea where her parents were. Left with no choice, she began trekking toward a nearby highway and stumbled upon a small beach-side community. It was in a 24/7 supermarket there, amidst the trauma of her recent experiences, that she met the people who would change her life forever.
