The server took a steady, gradual approach to opening, with a randomised queue enabling staggered logins for whitelisted players to slowly trickle in until the player cap was reached. Players waiting for their turn were able to enjoy other FiveM servers in the meantime, thanks to ONX's browser-based queue.

Applications
For the first seven days after submissions opened, applications were not reviewed. After that week, all applications that had been submitted were shuffled in a random order and queued for review.
⸺ Optional Purchases ⸺
On the 3rd of December that year, just days before the launch date, application priority was made available for purchase that would pull applications out of the main queue and place them into a shorter queue for faster review. 72-hour and 14-day options continue to be available on the ONX community store, for $50 USD and $20 USD respectively. The money received from these paid application boosts would primarily be given directly to the application review team, with the remaining amount allocated to offset development costs. Boosts do not guarantee application approval, they only speed up the process of receiving an outcome. Each boost is a one-time purchase and may only be used to boost a single application once.
An ONX supporter package was also made available at a cost of $30 USD per month, which provides niche benefits such as a special role in the official ONX Discord, a 'pause' feature which can hold your place in the server queue for up to 30 hours at a time, and more. This is a subscription intended to support development, reminiscent of a voluntary donation.
Boosts and support subscriptions are still available for purchase via the ONX community store. Neither application boosts nor the supporter package constitute pay-to-win practices: both are entirely optional purchases.

⸺ Application Trailer ⸺
Mysterious and motivating music provided by Epidemic Sound accompany 3D animated visuals of a character model slowly materialising amidst a dark voidlike space, punctuated only by pink, purple, and blue light effects. The ped model was provided by Ceptar4 and is a nod to one of GTAWiseGuy's previous roleplay characters, The Puppet Master.
Applications to the server were advertised on-screen and in the video's description, encouraging anyone interested to submit on the official ONX website.
⸺ Gameplay Trailer ⸺
Produced by ONX devloper GTAWiseGuy (GWG), the video showcases a host of features including cinematic storytelling tools, redesigned buildings and locations, injury mechanics, career progression systems, real-world integration for the in-game phone, and more. Against a funky synthwave-inspired soundscape once again provided by Epidemic Sound, voiceover and in-game footage and audio portray a vibrant and opportunity-rich environment. In keeping with GWG's passion for cars, game footage of vehicles feature heavily throughout, and more than 400 new vehicles in addition to the range of assets from the vanilla game were teased.
The final moments of the trailer revealed the server's release date: December 9th 2023, just a week and one day from the date the video was posted.
Development
⸺ Assets ⸺
On March 22nd, 2024, a major update was released that doubled the number of player model faces, enabling a more diverse-appearing population with over 45 new head models and a complete remaster of vanilla skin textures. Existing characters could visit the hospital for plastic surgery or tweak their features at the barber shop. Players were given the option to blend new faces with existing vanilla ones, or create an entirely custom appearance for their characters. A trailer was released to show off these changes.
Additionally, on the same date, it was announced that ONX would be offering a number of their custom assets to other servers in packs available for purchase. The income from this would be used to supplement development costs and enable further dev work. Both code and 3D assets, including peds, are available from the ONX Community Store.
A trailer for the emergency services clothing pack is available to watch on YouTube.
